Our staff, including our Mentors, strive to build strong meaningful relationships with our children in order to become integrated into their lives as they grow and develop. Our volunteers and Mentors develop positive relationships with children for the purposes of:
- building life skills
- enhancing self-esteem
- improving academic performance
- promoting healthy and educational recreation
- mentoring career choices and opportunities
Several studies have shown the critical importance of positive adult/mentor relationships for positive youth development. Our strong relationship with our Kidz is reflected in the 57 participants who have been in our programs for more than five years.
